Almond Cultivation:
The life cycle of VAIRO almonds, from flowering to harvest, follows a structured and seasonal schedule.

Winter Dormancy
(December - February)
The trees are in hibernation. We carefully prune the trees and inspect the trees for any invaders.
We carefully cut around any damaged parts and avoid the use of pesticides and harmful chemicals.
Flowering
(February - March)
The trees begin to bloom with beautiful white flowers.
Once the almond tree has blossomed, its time for pollination.
Greece is blessed to have this activity high with all the bees that love sunshine & calm weather for pollination.

Fruit Setting and Early Development
(March - June)
During pollination, the flowers grow into young almonds. The almonds begin to grow and develop inside their shells.
Fruit Development and Shell Hardening
(June - August)
The almonds continue to grow. The shell hardens and the kernel (almond) starts to form in the centre. The kernel starts to mature in the shell. The shell becomes brittle and starts to split showing that the nut is reaching maturation.

Kernel Filling
(August - September)
Harvested almonds are naturally dried in the sun. According to studies we have done, we know exactly how long they need to stay in the sun to use the sun's energy to dry them.
Harvest
(September - October)
They are then separated and classified. And processed to make our different species.Like almond butter, almond praline, almond granola, almond drinks, almond milk beverages, etc.
